'Fragments I-IV' by Harris Coverley

I.

…and make my way to precious sleep
Oh precious sleep
Safe, safe, safe precious sleep
Without dreams I don’t exist
And pain cannot touch an impossible soul…

II.

…oh yessum my jessum
Oh beauty is yours to keep
The light of day upon you
And I cannot hope to bare the wait
Upon Time’s shoulders
To help you cross reality’s stony riverbed
For to live until death is hard enough…

III.

…over the hill I see a house on fire
It once belonged to us
And although you would never admit it
You set it yourself…

IV.

…be safe, safe, safe
Upon that riverbed floor
Your pockets filled with stones
